Dr. Maggie Misch-Haring received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019, graduating Omicron Kappa Upsilon and valedictorian of her class.
She received a number of awards including:
American Academy of Periodontology Award for Achievement in Periodontics
Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Student Award in Implant Dentistry
Research Awards
Dr. Misch-Haring was also rewarded for her research in the field of implantology including:
First Place at the UAB Scholar’s Symposium for in vitro research on implantoplasty protocols for the treatment of peri-implantitis
Third Place in the William M. Pennel Research Competition for a formal protocol on the release kinetics of recombinant bone morphogenetic protein 2 using platelet rich fibrin as an autologous carrier
Periodontic Residency
Dr. Misch-Haring then went on to a three-year specialty residency in Periodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received advanced training in periodontal disease, gum tissue grafting, cosmetic gum surgery, dental implants, IV sedation, and complex bone augmentation procedures.
Master's Degree
Dr. Misch-Haring also completed her Master’s degree in Dentistry with a research project on growth factors used to enhance wound healing for treating advanced bone defects.

During her residency, Dr. Misch-Haring published several articles and online CE courses on a variety of topics including vertical bone augmentation, sinus elevation, and the association between dental health and chronic diseases. She taught undergraduate dental students in the UAB comprehensive care clinic on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease.
Third-Generation Family Legacy
Dr. Misch-Haring is a third-generation dentist in her family. She grew up in Sarasota, FL and is excited to serve her community alongside her parents, Dr. Craig Misch and Dr. Katherine Misch, and husband, Dr. Harry Haring.
